14-17 Weeks

Ok.... I'm traveling so I'm really sorry for the lack of updates. And lack of bump pictuers but there really isn't much bump going on yet anyway.

So I'll try to remember what's going on chronologically but I might forget some stuff.

I haven't had any morning sickness in the last 3 + weeks. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
I started to feel baby rolling around 14 weeks. I could feel the baby very seldom before that but around 14 is when the rolly feeling started.

I had a really bad UTI at 15 weeks and pain with bleeding. It was very scary. I'm not allowed to pick up anything over 10 pounds for 3 weeks and am on "Pelvic rest" (No problem - husband is gone. LOL).
"Popcorn" feeling kicks.

16 Weeks Really feeling baby now. Felt baby kick from the outside once today at 16W6D. It was really cool.

Emma points to belly and says "boy!"

We find out the gender on the 15th. We had to push the appointment back because of D's schedule.. boo!

I'm now 124.4LBS - I am supposed to get to 10 lbs before 20 weeks says the DR..... lol oh well!

13 Weeks - 2nd Trimester

This week has been much better. While I still feel nauseous during the day, as long as I take my medicine before bed I haven't been throwing up AT ALL, WOHOO!! I've had a few Gag moments, but that's all.

I think I've started to sleep a little better at night, and I have more energy during the day than in previous weeks. I do still get overly exhausted and sometimes don't even want to lift my limbs, but for the most part I have more energy.

I had a few sleep deprived nights where I got headaches the next day, but nothing major, nothing to write home about.

A little update on Emma - She's now in panties all day, even at nap time. I'm one proud mama. Only a diaper at night when she's sleeping. And, she's now 17 months Oh my goodness ! ! ! ! At this time last year she was learning to scoot forward and army crawl. Now she's walking, talking, and out of diapers... I can't believe it. What a rock star.

Differences

A friend of mine (who is also pregnant right now) made a list of differences between her two pregnancies for her boy and girl, and her current pregnancy (which looks a lot like her previous girl!)

So I decided to make a list!

Pregnant with Emma

  • Breasts hurt a lot, starting at 6 weeks and on
  • Car sickness started around 6 weeks
  • Major crying at everything starting before + test
  • Morning Sickness starts 8 weeks
  • NO MEAT
  • Horrible headaches, 10weeks and on
  • Smell of cereal and grains made me sick on the spot
  • Snickers and whipped cream = must have
  • Back acne
  • Pretty hair
Pregnant with #2
  • No soreness in breasts, even when nursing (A common complaint with women nursing while pregnant say it hurts A LOT.)
  • Car sickness started around 3 weeks
  • Not overly crying, but still choke up at things - but that's pretty normal for me anyway.
  • Short Temper
  • Morning sickness starts 4 weeks
  • LOVE red meat. Chicken is fine, too. No real food aversions when it's cooked. edit i have thrown up the past few times I've tried to eat peaches... but the thought/smell/taste of them doesn't make me sick until after I've eaten them... ?
  • No headaches
  • LOVE cereal and the smell of bread
  • Not craving sugar or sweets
  • Acne on face, neck, chest and shoulders but not back
  • Frizzy hair
  • Faster weight gain (despite more sickness than last time)

12 Weeks

Ok so to sum up this week:
Stomach Flu.

AGAIN.

Luckily a friend took Emma the day it hit me the hardest, and I was able to spend most of the day sleeping and in bed.

I can feel the stupid prenatal depression kicking in. I noticed a little last week and even more this week the overwhelming feelings of sadness and bouts of anger and frustration. It's harder this time to take care of myself when I'm trying to take care of Emma the best that I can when I feel the way I do. errrrrrrrg.

No picture this week, on 12 weeks day I was completely dehydrated and flat stomached and had lost 4 pounds in one day. (yeah it was a bad day.)

Good news: I saw the baby! YAY! He or She is beautiful and/or handsome, and completely stole my heart. Picture attached. HB was 178 and measuring pretty close to spot on, and DEAD ON with my dates... I knew when we got pregnant. I never thought I believed those women who said "I knew that day" but... I can honestly say I knew that day was the day, and after that my suspicion was on high alert. Symptoms & clues started almost right away. Of course I recognized them from my previous pregnancy.

Weight: 122lbs (-3 from last week, +3 total)

9, 10, 11 Weeks

9 Weeks
The worst week yet. Despite being on meds to help with nausea and vomiting, I was sick anyway. Also very tired. And holy heck, I had a ton of acne during week 9, it was horrible!! I am too old for this kind of acne.Belly starting to change shape -looking a little flabby. yuck.
Weight: 120lbs(+1)

10 Weeks
Still a sick week. I was in FL for the first half of the week so I didn't take a picture. Acne still raging. Grossing me out. Some high levels of fatigue, but also peaks of energy.
Weight: 124 lbs (+5)

11 Weeks
Not as sick this week. Acne still yuck but not as bad as previous two weeks. So tired, partly attributed to Emma's sleep being messed up since returning from FL. She's been waking up around midnight asking for Dada and wanting to come see my bed to see he isn't there. One of the worst fatigue weeks since week 4. Feeling yucky and blob like - started wearing maternity clothes this week. It's much more comfortable. Hot flashes started this week.
 Weight: 124.5 (+5.5)

8 Weeks (+2 days oops)

I'm really bad at doing pictures and posts on time this time.

I feel worse and more tired, but the medicine for the morning sickness helps SO MUCH. If I forget to take it though, watch out.
I'm more moody than I have been and have a super short fuse. Poor Emma. I'm so impatient right now.

We weaned in the last week, so I'm no longer nursing .The "girls" still hurt and I'm still producing wayyyy too much milk, even though she hasn't nursed in over 5 days, maybe 6, I lost track.

I can FINALLY drink water without feeling sick. But it has to be bottled purified water. I can't drink the stuff out of the fridge and certain brands are still no good. It's very weird.

I found myself with a sweet tooth this week. Also I still have no desire to cook. I hate smells.

I think that's it, pretty much. Oh Danny will now be gone until I'm 25 weeks. boooooo.
Weight: 120.0
I gained a pound but I honestly think it's all the milk I've got right now from weaning. This stuff is heavy, and I can feel it. Also, my tummy area looks a little softer this week... yuck!

My shorts look awkward. And Emma is enjoying a PBJ.

7 Weeks

So I'm 7 weeks along now, how nice. Actually wish I could fast forward to the end, but oh well. I definitely do not enjoy being pregnant.
I'm not saying that in an ungrateful way. Not at all! I want to love my children and I feel like I'm missing out on what would have been an awesome summer with Emma because I'm laying on the couch trying to avoid vomit-town. I did go to the doctor last week and I got some phenagren (Sp?) but it puts me to sleep. So I take it right before bed. Which is actually great because I was waking up in the middle of the night to barf in a bucket (sorry, so gross) and now I can just sleep peacefully, and the best part is that I wake up not feeling nauseous. It usually waits until after breakfast to kick in. Knock on wood, please stay that way. It's definitely the worst at night this time around.
Water = YUCK! I remember when one of my friends was pregnant and she always told me how horrible water tastes when you're pregnant. Then I got pregnant with Emma and all was well and good I drank water by the gallon! I always had a cup with me - I even was teased about carrying my red cup with me wherever I went. But this time, it's all I can do to stomach the stuff. Water is usually all that I drink. And sometimes chocolate milk. But now, no water. No milk. Ewwwwwwwww. Ok I do still drink water but only because I force it. I do kind of like ginger ale, but the sugar is outrageous in soda. I need something else. I don't really care for juice - too sweet!
So the apple thing is back. But not a craving like last time. But I can eat them and they make my stomach stop churning. Also it's not green apples this time, I'm really enjoying the red ones. Strange as I've never been a huge fan of the RED apple. Usually yellow or green.
And I hate cooking right now. I hate smelling what I'm cooking while I'm cooking it and then having to eat it and then still being able to smell it after I've eaten it. I REALLY HATE COOKING. I really wish Danny were here. He would grill for me all summer. :(
Not sure what else to say really. Oh yeah, I have an appointment on 20 July to see the baby and confirm the due date (Feb 9th). Fun fun! I'll also have a physical exam that day, I'll spare you the details about that though.
Weight: 119 (Yep , back where we started!)

I didn't take a picture this week and held off posting this until I did.. well it's too late I'm already past 8 weeks! EEK!
